Chocolate Popcorn Balls! Another recipe that the kids can help decorate. As a kid, I loved finding popcorn balls in my treat bag. Inspired by the season, I whipped up my own popcorn balls and covered them in chocolate and sprinkles. If you are looking for a treat to bring to a party this weekend, these simple and festive chocolate covered popcorn balls are sure to be crowd favorite.

To start, I used Martha Stewart’s popcorn ball recipe. The recipe is easy, just be sure to butter your hands well when you form balls, the mixture is extremely sticky. Once the popcorn balls have set, temper or melt chocolate bark over a double broiler or in the microwave. (Microwave tip: melt the chocolate in 20 second increments, stirring in between each one to make sure you do not burn the chocolate.)

Next, Lightly dip the balls in to the chocolate, place on a parchment lined tray and cover in Halloween sprinkles. When you have covered all the balls, set them in the fridge until the chocolate has hardened. Place the popcorn balls on a festive plate to share with all of your friends.

    Martha's Popcorn Balls-

1 cup dried cranberries, or English toffee bits, optional

    Directions

Melt butter in a large heavy pot over low heat. Add marshmallows and brown sugar and stir until melted. Remove from heat.

Pour popcorn and cranberries, or English toffee bits if using, into pot; toss well. With buttered hands, shape into 2 1/2-inch balls. Set on parchment lined baking sheet to dry slightly.
