It is, apple season. I love to experiment with apples and chocolate. Every year we come home from apple picking with more apples that I know what to do with. So, since I love to temper chocolate and make candy, apples become a prime ingredient in my recipes. Besides, if they have chocolate on them, the kids will eat more. What's that saying again..."An apple a day..." PS- I know this doesn't call for tempered chocolate, but since it is Friday, I thought I'd take it easy and just make something quick.
Ingredients
2 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
1/3 cup low-fat granola with or without raisins
1 large Brae burn apple, cut into 16 wedges
Preparation
1. Place chocolate in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH 1 minute, stirring every 15 seconds, or until chocolate melts.
2. Place granola in a shallow dish. Dip apple wedges, skin side up, in chocolate; allow excess chocolate to drip back into bowl. Dredge wedges in granola. Place wedges, chocolate side up, on a large plate. Refrigerate 5 minutes or until set.
