Chocolate Cake Snack Bats! Happy Halloween! These chocolate bats are pretty simple to make using chocolate coated cake rolls, dark cocoa candy melts, candy eyes, and a black food coloring marker, so let's get started. Chocolate Snack Cake Bats for Halloween You'll need: 1 chocolate cake roll per bat (Little Debbie Swiss Rolls, Hostess Ho Ho's, Drakes Yodels) black food coloring marker tempered or melted dark confectionery coating/candy melts (about 1 ounce per bat) 2 candy eyes per bat Squeezeit Mold painter, disposable pastry bag or zip top bag parchment paper lined baking sheet Instructions: Draw some bat wings on a piece of paper allowing enough room for the snack cake in between the wings. Draw a mouth and fangs on each snack cake using a black food coloring marker. Fill your squeeze bottle, disposable pastry bag or zip top bag with melted confectionery coating. Squeeze a small drop on the back of each candy eye and attach them to the snack cake just above the mouth. Slide the drawing of your wings under your parchment paper. Pipe the melted confectionery coating/candy melts over the drawing creating your wings. Pipe a strip of candy coating in the middle of the wings then set the snack cake on top of that. Refrigerate until the wings are set, about 3-5 minutes. thanks to: http://www.hungryhappenings.com/2012/08/chocolate-snack-cake-bats-make-sweet.html
